School opening and closing times are as follows .

Assembly all classes from 9am to 9:15. Doors open at 9am.

Classes start at 9:20 sharp.

Infant classes finish at 1:45pm Monday to Thursday and 1:30 on Fridays . 1^st to 6^th classes finish at 2:55pm Monday to Thursday and at 1:45 on Fridays .

The Board take no responsibility for children before 9am and after 3pm and parents are asked not to have children on the premises before or after school times unsupervised.

Infants are only dismissed when collected by an approved person selected by the parent /guardian .Children in 1^st to 6^th classes leave unaccompanied after school.

We ask parents to use the safe walkway from the church car park for collection and drop off when the weather allows. We ask parents NOT to park illegally at the school entrance. Children must be seated in the back seat with seat belts in place before entering or leaving the school grounds. 

 

The annual report for 2015/16 is now posted on the school blog . It confirms all details of classes and holidays for the coming school year.

 

 

Homework from next Monday must be signed by parents each night. MAXIMUM Times for homework are 1 hour 5^th /6^th  ,40 minutes 3^rd/.4^th-30 minutes ,1^st /2^nd and 20 minutes infant classes. No child is expected to exceed these times for any reason once parents have signed that the child  has made the appropriate effort . Homework is a general rule divided into 3 sections  writing , learning and reading  all of which should be allocated the same approximate time . When you sign the journal  you are saying you are satisfied that an appropriate effort has been put in by your child .

 

Our school is a Catholic School and religion taught is based on the Catholic Faith .Parents /Guardians of Non Catholic pupils may send an activity to occupy their child for religious instruction time / catholic services time which amounts to 2hours 30minutes per week An activity might be a colouring book , a workbook , book for reading /puzzles etc… During prayers etc… non Catholic children are excused from any participation / involvement .Parents should advise their own child accordingly .

 

Registration for all afterschool classes takes place next Monday between 1:30 and 3pm in the school hall. Check Blog for detail do not contact the office regarding after school activities .

All Books etc…all provided covered and labelled as in previous years. Payment €100 before the end of September. This €100 covers all expenses throughout the year including bus outings, drama, art supplies, tests and personal accident insurance .Payment by instalment can be arranged by arrangement with the principal.

Your child should be happy at school .Please contact Mr. Conlon immediately with ANY worries or concerns, the sooner the better especially if any bullying is suspected. Most small problems are easily fixed when notified in time .

 

Parents who have signed up for communication by e mail for reports will receive this note by e mail only from next week . We would really like if as many parents as possible would try this out to help the transfer of information as many households do not appear to get messages / notes  from school .

 

Parents / Guardians will also this year receive individual text messages / e mails informing them if a child is unwell / arriving late or absent without an explanation . Texts cannot be replied to and a note or e mail response is required in response.
