School assembly is from 9am to 9:20 each morning . Schools doors open at 9am . There is no supervision of children prior to this.

The school will be closed for an additional day – Wednesday 29 November for a Dept. of Education curriculum planning day. Please note this


Parents please note that the school bus parking space at the school gate needs to be kept clear for the school bus.

We would appreciate if the final book monies would be paid as soon as possible or an arrangement for payment made this week  .


Church –  Do this in memory – Programme of preparation for 1st Holy Communion Parents Meeting at 8pm tonight in the school hall with Fr. Oliver .Provisional date for Confirmation is Saturday May 5th. The ‘Be my Witness’ preparation programme will start in November .


Afterschool Options .

Manorhamilton Childcare have a morning and evening service which picks up and drops off children to school. Contact the Bee Park Centre for details .

Our afterschools sport,Music, drama and dance are all up and running this week Infants 1:45 to 2: 50) Other Classes 3 to 4 pm.

Notes : Homework should be strictly according to maximum times as per homework policy and signed by parents , bags should be light , first break is fruit or veg. break for all and walking from church car park is advised where possible .


September 5th Note


A red VW Golf with a D registration has been reported to the office by concerned parents regarding dangerous driving on school grounds . We will refer this on to the Gardai and we ask the owner of the vehicle to refrain from driving onto the school grounds unless they do so with due consideration to those using Zebra Crossings and school roadway.

School Mass this Friday at 9:30 in the church . Children will go from school at 9:20. Parents and family members are welcome . Non Catholics will remain in the school with teacher supervision and should come to school as normal.

School Book money should be paid at this stage or an arrangement for payment made with Mr. Conlon . Thanks to everyone who paid online using our e payment system .

6th Class have a Geography / History field trip to Sligo Abbey and Carrowmore next Wednesday . Free to those on the book scheme . €8 for those who are not

Parents /guardians are reminded that they must make an appointment to meet the class teacher …please do not call in for a chat in the morning ….there are 29/30 children in each  room .


Homework journals should be signed by a parent /guardian to show YOU as parent are satisfied with the amount of work completed by your child at home . Times are as per homework policy ( see online ) or a copy available on request . You will be informed when the standard or quantity of homework varies from that done at school at parent teacher meetings later in the term or earlier if necessary .


Thanks again to everyone for making 1st break –Fruit /Veg break . we once again have 99% support from our parents .


Most afterschool activities are up and running  this week or next . Registration essential and information is available  ONLY from the service provider directly .

Afterschool Information September 2017

St Clare’s After School  Classes are starting this week or next week are as follows  .

Children attending afterschool  MUST be registered with the after-school provider before attending the session to give all details of phone numbers , medical details etc…

The afterschool services here in the school are provided by private individuals who are independently insured and child protection vetted . All arrangements for payment and collection etc… are between the parent / guardian and the service provider . 

Mondays : Football skills with James Glancy and Thomas McDonald 
Tuesdays : Football , Fun and fitness with James Mc Dowell and Stuart .

Wednesdays : Tin Whistle with Lorraine  and Piano with Sylvia . 

Thursdays : Dance Club with kathleen  ( Starts next week)

Fridays : Drama with Tori ( This may be in the Glens Center on occasions ) in the school hall normally ( NOT IN CLASSROOM ) and

Football with James Glancy . Please Note Friday football is weather dependent and will be outdoors all the time . It will be cancelled if weather is unsuitable .

Gardening and Tai Chi afterschools will start later in the month .

Manor Childcare organise both before and after-school childcare / child minding services and drop off  collect children from the school at normal school dismissal times . All enquiries to Manor Childcare in the Bee Park Center .

PLEASE NOTE : Children are not supervised by school staff either before or after official school hours . 

i.e.  9am to 2:55pm ( Monday to Thursday) 9am to 1:45 on Fridays . 

       Infant classes finish at 1:45 Monday to Thursday and 1:30 on Fridays .

The Board of Management take no responsibility for children on the school premises outside these times .
