October Note 3

We would like to make all parents aware of the need for Cyber safety measures for your children . It has come to our attention that there are a number of pupils who appear to have unsupervised access to phones /tablets /internet. As we learned at the parent /pupil and teacher workshops last year ………..

  1.  Children must be monitored and supervised in relation to ALL internet activity at all times including phones /x box /playstation  tablets , laptops etc…
  2. Children should never have internet access in bedrooms and should not have screentime coming up to bedtimes.
  3. Cyber bullying is a fact of life and unsupervised children will be bullies /victims or observers .
  4. If your child’s phone ‘/device is locked and you do not have access then you need to take appropriate action.

We ask all parents to check your child’s device this weekend and to have a discussion with your child about internet safety and bullying in general.

PREVENTION IS ESSENTIAL FOR EVERY CHILD’s SAFETY.

Please refer to cyber Safety information on our website or WWW. WEBWISE.IE  for more information.
