The school had a WSE , Whole School Evaluation over a number days before and after the Halloween Break. 2 department of education inspectors carried out an in depth analysis of the schools performance in all areas

  • Pupils and parents feedback was gathered through a questionnaire and interviews with parent’s representatives and the pupils themselves .
  • The schools in school management team , the special needs team the Board and the principal were interviewed at depth.
  • Each classroom teacher was observed teaching a number of lessons and planning / preparation and classroom management evaluated .

The completed whole school report will be available in January and will be published online for everyone to read.

The report has been given to us in draft form orally by the inspectorate and as principal I am delighted to say that the WSE has recognised the very high levels of teaching, learning and management in the school .It is a very proud moment for all of our staff, Board of Management , parents and pupils to have the excellence of the school acknowledged by an outside objective body .

The staff greatly appreciated the words of thanks and appreciation given by our Board Chairperson Mr. Kieran Ryan and also those of Declan Drohan the Chairperson of the Parent association .

On behalf of myself as principal I would like to thank all the staff for the work they do every day on an ongoing basis to ensure the school is the best it can be for our pupils . We could not do this without the support of our parents and the wider community who always support us in every way possible .Thanks also to those who serve on the Board and the Parent Association Committee on a voluntary basis .

Thanks especially to the teachers whose professionalism and efforts make it all possible. We can all look forward to seeing the achievements of our school community acknowledged in published form. We will notify parents how to access the report when it is published online  .
